STUDENT’S WELFARE AND UTILITY SERVICES
Students’ Aid Fund offers fee relaxation/financial assistance to Rank Holders in HSLC/AHM/Class XII Exams, students of BPL families, students of financially unsound families of reserved categories under the Rules and Regulations of the college. Students will have to apply to the Principal for getting such assistance.
The students can avail the following different types of scholarship- (a) Minority Scholarship. (b) SC Scholarship,(c) OBC Scholarship, (d) ST Scholarship, (e) Labour Scholarship, (f) Assam Higher Secondary Education Council Scholarship, (g) UGC Scholarship. (h) Special Scholarship by the ACTA , M.C. College Unit.
The details of the above scholarships will be notified by the College Office in due time.
Students securing highest aggregate marks in Major for both Arts and Science in the graduate level shall be conferred upon with the Platinum Jubilee Award from this year.
The ‘Health Counselling Cell’ of the college offers counselling and other services relating to health matters and also organizes various programmes concerning health. Moreover, there is a Health Center at the college, where free health check-up of the students is done once a week by an experienced doctor. The “Health Counseling Cell” takes prompt action when any health-related problem arises in any student during his/her stay at the college.
The Career Guidance and Counselling Cell of the college guides the aspiring students in matters of diffirent fields of higher education and employment and offers counselling to them in various problems and other matters concerning them.
Students of Degree classes, belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Minority Communities are given special coaching under the UGC sponsored Remedial Coaching Scheme. In the past sessions, many students from the said categories were benefitted by this coaching.
The College campus is WiFi enabled. The central library also has internet facility. Students can access this facility free of cost during working hours.
The College campus is under 24 hour CCTV Surveillance.More than 0 cameras keep 24 hours vigil in and around the campus.
Travelling concession is given to students who go for educational tour conducted by the college authority.
The Kameswar Das Library has a ‘Book Bank’, from which books are given to regular students belonging to the following categories:
- The H.S. 1st year students who secured 80% of marks in the H.S.L.C. Examination.
- The H.S. 2nd year students who secured ‘A’ grade in the H.S. 1st year Examination.
- Two meritorious students of each major and general-course subject in Degree 1st, 2nd and 3rd year classes, on the basis of the result of the last examination.
- Students of Degree 1st, 2nd and 3rd year classes, from economically backward families, who secured the 1st Division in the last examination.
- Students belonging to ST, SC and OBC, who secured 55% of marks in the last examination.
All the departments of the college have their own libraries with a good stock of text books and reference books in the respective subjects. Students can also borrow books from departmental libraries. The departments follow their own rules in providing books to the students.
In Order to provide the students with adequate facilities for their physical and emotional well being, the college has one multi-gym and one iron-gym equipped with modern excercising gadgets and equipments backed up by professional staff. These two units of gymnasium help the students towards management of stress as well as preparing a healthy mind in a healthy body. Students can join the gyms as per the rules and regulations formulated by the college authority.
Pure drinking water facility for the M.C. College fraternity is made available by installing Aquagards and water coolers in some specific positions inside the college campus.
Students are always encouraged to take part in sports and games. Our college has sufficient facilities for many indoor and outdoor games such as football, Volleyball, cricket, badminton, basketball, table tennis etc. Students of M C College have shown their potential in many sports such as cricket, volleyball, etc at the state and the national level.
